Creekside Football Game

Tonight we attended "Military Appreciation Night" at the Creekside vs. Bartram Trail football game. Before the game, the kids got to jump on two boucehouses and pick up some free goodies from the Navy recruiter.  During the game, all of the military guests got to sit in the end zone and were treated to pizza and Chick-fil-A lemonade, tea, and cookies.  The honored guest was a 92-year-old WWII Navy veteran.  The bands from both school played the National Anthem and performed at halftime, and we got to watch our babysitter perform on the cheerleading squad.  We left before the fourth quarter due to hot and exhausted kids and a very lopsided score (favoring BT).  Thanks for a really fun evening, Creekside!

JCP Fall Fest

After flag football and lunch, we headed over to the JCP Fall Fest, a free event for residents of our community.  Although it was about 105 degrees outside, the boys had a great time climbing the rock wall (about a million times each), bouncing in the bounce houses, and riding the mechanical bull. They also got some pretty awesome balloon creations!

Back to the Driving Range!

This time, they went to the driving range at the golf course in our community!

Sweet Lily

We had to put our sweet Lily cat to sleep today.  She and Maggie were still living in Ellicott City and receiving the best care from my parents.  My mom noticed that Lily was slowing down on Monday, although she seemed to be doing better on Tuesday.  However, this afternoon, they had to rush her to the vet because she looked like she was in a great deal of pain and she couldn't even raise her head. After a few tests, the vet determined that her liver and kidneys were completely failing.  I was able to skype with my parents from the vet's office to see Lily one final time.  The boys were very, very sad to hear the news.  Lily was the sweetest and friendliest cat.  She loved to sit on my lap (especially when I was pregnant), cuddle with the boys, and keep me company when Chris was gone.  She was a special member of our family for almost 15 years (we adopted her in Newport in March 2002), and she is already missed.  Rest in peace, sweet Lily!  We love you so very much!

Visiting Lily at the vet's office in March 2013, when she was very sick with a stomach infection.  We thought we were going to lose her then, but on Good Friday, we took her home and she completely healed!

Saying "see you later" to Lily and Maggie before they went home with Grammy and Pop-Pop and we moved to Memphis.
