Connor Update

Our little man is growing up!  Here are some of his latest tricks:
- he loves to sit in his rocking chair or in "momma cheer" at the table to eat his snacks or drink his milk.
- he is almost tall enough to pedal his tricycle.  He can get both feet on the pedals but can't quite reach to push them in a circle yet.
- he still says "bless" after anyone coughs or sneezes.  He also "blesses" himself after he coughs and sneezes.
- he says "shhh" whenever we pass by a pond full of ducks (I guess he thinks they are sleeping??) and also whenever we see a baby in a stroller or he sees the baby's crib.
- he speaks almost entirely in phrases.  Some of his favorites include:  it's down there (especially when talking about where the school buses are) and dadda's in his jeep.  Some of his new words are:  boy, church, dirt, baby, zoom (motorcycle), and wheel (he makes this into a 3-syllable word, sounds like "whale")
- he still runs everywhere!  He loves to run in a circle and to be chased.  He also loves to pull out his crayon bin and color at the table.

Baby Boy #2 Update

Only about 3 more months until Baby Boy #2 makes his appearance!  Last weekend, we sold Chris's childhood furniture (which had been serving as our guest room furniture) and moved a sleeper sofa and all of the toys into the guest room, creating a play room!  Baby Boy's crib is assembled, although we still need the rest of his bedroom furniture.  The baby moves a lot - he's most active in the morning after breakfast and in the late evening.  It's such an amazing feeling!  Please keep praying that our little boy continues to grow healthy and strong!

Bunny Ears!

Grammy bought Connor some bunny ears at Target while she was here.  He has insisted on wearing them around the house recently!  Here are some photos of our favorite bunny!

Visit from Grammy

My mom visited us for a long weekend over President's Day.  We were so glad she got to spend such a long time with us!  Connor and Grammy played trains, fed the ducks that live down the street, played outside, and read lots of books.  Mom did a lot of cooking for us, and we also enjoyed time shopping, eating at Crazy Sushi, watching my first lacrosse game of the season, and spending time together.  We can't wait to see Grammy (and Pop-pop) again soon!

Escape Artist!

Ever since he figured out how to wriggle out of his swaddling blanket when he was just hours old, Connor has been quite an escape artist.  Recently, he's been practicing his art during naptime and bedtime.  We have discovered him in nothing but a diaper (with his unzipped pajamas and his blankets on the floor next to his crib), with his arm through his neck hole, and with both arms out of his button-up pajama top and it flipped around backwards.  His antics never cease to amaze us!

Visit from Meemaw and Papa

Chris's parents recently spent two weeks with us while Chris worked and attended his grad school classes and I did a week of Reserves work and started lacrosse season in full-swing.  We were so fortunate that they were able to spend such a long time with us.  Connor really enjoyed the extra attention and special activities with his Meemaw and Papa.  They played outside in the driveway, played choo-choos, colored in his coloring book, read a lot of books, and enjoyed a daily trip for treats at Panera.  We were sad to see Meemaw and Papa leave, but we were so thankful for everything they did to help us!
