9 Months Old!

Aaron is 9 months old!  He has really changed a lot in the past month.  He is crawling full-speed now, and it won't be long until he pulls up.  Connor never really went through the fast crawling phase, and Chris was gone for this period in Connor's life, so it's great that he can experience it with Aaron.  He weighs 23.5 pounds (85th percentile) and is 25 inches long (90th percentile).  For about 2 weeks, he and Connor have been wearing the same size 5 diapers!  He is also wearing mostly 12 month clothes, although he still fits into a select few 9 month items.  He is still taking one long nap every afternoon and sometimes takes a cat nap in the morning.  He clearly says "dada" and "momma" and Connor is trying to teach him to say all sorts of other words such as cat and up.  Just this week, he went on a nursing strike which caused me a great deal of concern because he didn't drink anything more than a few sips (and we tried everything- water, formula, breastmilk in a bottle) for about seven days.  It was difficult to watch him go through this phase since it was something we didn't experience at all with Connor.  He continued to eat normally, so the doctor wasn't concerned about it.  He typically nurses in the morning, then eats baby food for lunch and dinner (usually two containers for each).  He has also started to enjoy Mum-Mums and wheel snacks.  He picked up on using a sippy much quicker than Connor did and is now drinking water out of it routinely.  He has not developed any separation anxiety at all.  He still just has two bottom teeth!  He loves to interact with Connor, and he has recently started moving his arms when he hears music and also taking things out of containers and putting them back in.  We have transitioned to using the Peg Perego stroller and put away the Snap and Go since he is so big!  We just love our sweet Aaron and we're so thankful that God blessed us with him 9 months ago!

Jen's Visit

Last week, one of my dearest friends, Jen Baker, came to visit us!  She was my lacrosse teammate at Navy, then I coached lacrosse with her at Cape Henry for two years.  She is now as an assistant coach at Cornell, and her team was here to play against JU.  On Monday, my team was able to host the Cornell girls for their pre-game meal, then Caryn and I went to watch the game on Tuesday afternoon.  The best part of the visit was when Jen got to come to our house, eat dinner, and hang out with me and the boys for the evening.  I miss her, and I wish she lived closer; however, I am so thankful that our friendship has endured for 15 years and across many miles!

Connor and Jen played some basketball while Aaron watched from his stroller (where he also chewed on a calculator).

Lacrosse Game

On Saturday, my lacrosse team had a game in Gainesville against Buchholz High School.  Chris and the boys drove over to watch the game and enjoy a post-game meal at Chick-fil-A with the Greenerts.  The boys had a great time at the game, and we enjoyed being outside as a family in the beautiful weather.

Crawling!

As of March 16th, Aaron is officially a crawler!  All week, he has been rocking on his hands and knees, and he has finally taken off!  He's gotten really fast over the past few days.  He has enjoyed his new-found independence and has used his new skills to discover the toy basket and book box in the family room, the toilet paper roll in the bathroom, the cat food dish, and the magnets on the fridge! We know it's just a matter of time before he starts pulling up and eventually walking!
